On Thursday 21st August the grandeur of Queen & Collins became a launchpad for something far from ordinary. With the creative force of Papermill Agency GPT Group hosted Journey Beyond — an immersive night of cosmic cocktails futuristic theatrics and galactic goodness. The historic venue glowed neon smoke curled across the floor and guests were invited into a world that felt more interstellar than corporate.
From the moment doors opened at 6:30pm guests were transported. Music pulsed in the lobby roaming performers set the scene and entertainment filled the windows above like a living installation. Mister Bartender greeted guests on the bridge of Level 2 with arrival cocktails — neon lit smoke enhanced serves that set the tone before anyone had taken a seat.
For this event cocktails weren’t just beverages they were experiences. Our bar team designed and delivered a menu aligned with the Journey Beyond theme including:
#51 – A vibrant blend of Baron Samedi Spiced Rum falernum pineapple lime saline and our violet pigment syrup a natural reactive colour element developed in house.
Event Horizon – Tequila blanco Cointreau watermelon syrup verjus cloudy apple coconut water and peach bitters topped with a mint cloud and garnished with a hand sculpted sugar alien tentacle.
The names alone hinted at the atmosphere cosmic daring and playful. Each pour was photographed filmed and shared cocktails as content as much as refreshment.
The guest journey went beyond the bar. A glitter artist aura reader and roaming face painters gave guests a chance to transform while Future Frame performers brought windows to life. As speeches and bowl food service rolled out DJ Kate and Mike Snell Entertainment shifted the night from atmospheric to electric ensuring the energy never dipped.
With Papermill Agency managing logistics and design and a full roster of partners — Fourside Catering Pot Plant Productions AV and lighting Simply Seated furniture Jessie Obialor photography and Mister Bartender for cocktails and service — the night was a masterclass in collaboration.
For Journey Beyond our role was clear translate a galactic concept into cocktails with character. From the alien tentacle garnish to reactive colour syrups we turned each glass into a small piece of theatre. Because when the brief says “cosmic” we don’t just serve drinks we serve another world.
