This deep mahogany tonic will cut into the haze of your groggy, tired mind like the edge of a Siberian glacier. You won’t find a more authoritative partnership than that of the bitters, the vermouth, and the sharp, musky whiskey (which smells a bit like Sean Connery’s library). It’s smooth yet still packs a strong punch, with some mellow sweetness that’s only just detectable. There really isn’t much a good whiskey cocktail can’t cure.
