THE EVENT
Paramount Pictures and The Event Department hosted the Melbourne premiere and media pre-screening for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning at IMAX Melbourne Museum. With a “Fire & Ice” brief and a 350-guest guestlist, the pressure was on to deliver a cocktail concept that embodied the franchise’s ‘Fire & Ice’ theme. Bold, explosive, and unforgettable.
WHAT WE SERVED
While another team covered the ice, Mister Bartender brought the fire. We designed a gingerbeer based cocktail spiked with spice, smoke and tension. A flavour profile designed to echo the heat and high stakes of the film. Each serve was theatrically finished with handheld smoke guns, creating a cinematic plume on pour. For the garnish, we added a custom sugar glass shard etched with a fingerprint, a subtle nod to the biometric heists central to the storyline.
Our original pitch went even further: mission cards clipped to each glass, printed on fire paper and designed to ignite on cue a reference to Ethan’s self-destructing assignments. While fire regulations meant the idea couldn’t be brought to life in full, its spirit lived on through the fingerprinted glass, a detail that rewarded attention and sparked conversation.
THE RESULT
350 guests, every drink served with suspense. The drink became a show-stopping centrepiece, praised for its storytelling, presentation, and explosive execution. One reviewer said it felt like “drinking a scene from the movie.” Mission accomplished.
